custom indash idea i had.. what do you think?

wsup im new to this site so im not sure if this is the right forum or not so move this if you must.

i have a 2001 lx sedan 5 speed. i work in the city and theft is something i always worry about. so i came up with this idea that i made work. i didnt like the idea of getting an indash and having everybody see it and get it jacked. im able to have a pioneer indash while keeping its stock look. tell me what you guys think tho

Re: custom indash idea i had.. what do you think?

I love it man. I like stealth installs. Even though I'm not turboed I was thinking while sitting on the can.... about good places to hide gauges if someone had a turboed car.

Have you seen the post of some member who dremeled out the front of his stock radio and separated it from the back... and hid his aftermarket unit behind it?

I was thinking that this might not help for those people who see you using the indash while you're driving, and subsequently follow you to where you park in order to jack it.

I dig it.

Are you still running power to the OEM radio? I think it would be cool if the clock and anti-theft light still worked.

Pretty neat idea. Reminds of another thread a while back, when this site was 7thgencivics.

Re: custom indash idea i had.. what do you think?

i have wanted to do this since day 1

6.5 or 7 inch LCD molded into the dash to replace the whole DIN panel. Have a dvd player slot and controls for it down near the cupholders in that little slot...obviously would have to guage it out but that would be cleen

Re: custom indash idea i had.. what do you think?

it's a good idea but there's nothing new about stealth installs...the only reason why you probably haven't heard too much about them is because the people with them are also the ones who don't want to show it off...letting everyone know about it defeats the purpose of having it...good job, retard...
