Relocating Head unit down below...

Alright, I'm trying to relocate my kenwood head unit down below in the empty spots in the 01 civics... My headunit does not fit through the plastic molding... so is it just the size of my head unit or does everyone suffer this? Do i need to cut the molding to fit it? Help? :/

another solution is to put it in the center console, its really easy, all you need is a piece of 1/4 inch plywood, some sandpaper, and a boatload of time

but see for yourself:

If you are thinking of hanging your deck vertical make sure your deck will play at that angle, because some decks won't. What deck did you get and what mounting kit? It might be easier to modify the mounting bracket to fit your deck.

I'm looking to put it where the ash tray should be... Those empty bays down the middle below the head unit, ya know?

The HU I will be putting there is a Kenwood Graphical Equilizer/Spectrum... Normal sized DIN

there certainly wouldnt be a problem with anything else.

but no, my cd's do not skip at all. unless i hit a speedbump at over 30 mph. then maybe.

i can think of a great many decks that cant take THAT punishment while upright
