Should I take out my Eclipse Aluminums for 3 or 4 JL Audio W7 12" Subs?? I just installed rims and I am thinking about upgrading my ICE with a Kenwood or Alpine headunit. Also, I am thinking about changing my amps too....

what kind of deck do you have? i would find something else instead of kenwood and alpine.

i love the alums so i would stay with them but its your $$$$$

The W7's are grossly inneficient.. and require alot of juice to get them moving. They sound about as good as a sub possibly can. But then again, Image Dynamics IDMAX does to and it's a VERY efficient sub..not to mention less than half the price of a 12w7 and handles more power [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]..

Between kenwood and Alpine..it's a no Brainer..Alpine makes a beter product.. But you might also wanna look into CLarion or Eclipse HU's..

I am running an old Kenwood with a 4V preamp output. I dont know the model # since it rubbed off the faceplate.

Old kenwoods pre-outs were very overrated. Usually only put out about 2.2 volts or so....Time for an upgrade [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

If you're going for best sound, my experience is to go with Eclipse... cleaner.... if you're going for bling bling go with Alpine
