Bigger alternator

I was wondering if an Accord alternator would fit 05 civic d17 motor. My alternator can't keep up with my electrical demands.

Re: Bigger alternator

An Accord alternator would not fit unless you made some kind of custom bracket. Also, be careful with the cheap "high output" alternators since most of them are junk from my experience. However, if you don't need a crazy powerful alternator, what I discovered is that an OEM Honda Stream 1.7 alternator is actually much stronger than the Civic alternator and it's a direct bolt on. You can get them for around $60-70 on eBay. I read that they are 95 amps, although I am not certain about that. However, I have one on my Civic with a 48MM pulley and it produces around 75 amps at idle and around 100 amps at about 2000 RPM, so much better than stock. I hope this helps https://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-D17A-01...Yetb:rk:1:pf:0
