Gauge Cluster

I have a 2005 Civic Coupe, 5sp value package. Is it easy to swap in a cluster with the factory tach as this car does not have one? I'm curious if the wiring is behind the cluster or would it be easier to install an after market tach. Thanks.

Re: Gauge Cluster

Looks like it should be a straight swap.

Check out this thread. It's a DIY to swap in an 03-05 cluster into an 01-02, but post #47 shows a member that swapped from a non-tach equipped 01-02 cluster to an 03-05 cluster with a tach, simply by re-pinning his plugs.

Just to avoid any confusion, to go from 01-02 to an 03-05 requires repining. Any 01-02 should work in any 01-02 with no re-pinning, as should any 03-05 cluster work in any 03-05 car.

Regardless, you'll have to either get the odometer reprogrammed by a speedometer shop in order for vehicle mileage to read correctly.

<shameless plug> I should have a 03-05 MT cluster (blue) laying around if you're interested in buying one. IIRC, it has about 24-28k on the odometer. Bought it with the intention of doing the swap, but never got around to it.</shameless plug>

Re: Gauge Cluster

I'm very interested, will $80 work? What's the best we for us to get a hold of each other without putting my info on the web?
