SEDAN rear deck....../ trunk ...anybody with a sedan
anybody with a sedan tried to fix the rattles the trunk gives with subs pounding it's sooooo loud ....way louder than other cars i hear.......i tried to fix it quick so i stuffed the trunk lid with styrofoam.....yah it's ghetto but it works .....think it's the 2 metals inside rattling on eachother......what have you guys used on your sedans to stop that horrible rattling???
what rear deck seems like the bass in my car now after i took it out to install my speakers .....the deck now rattles against the window .....anybody know what i should use to fix that up because its annoying when i'm just using the low bass and it's rattling like crazy......what should i stuff with what also.??????????

We tightened the trunk latch..that kills 80% of the rattling..
Also removing the plastic rear deck and using Gasketing foram tape underneath it will stop the plastic from buzzing on the metal there...
Cheers

i still have to move the latch, but doing the screw thing for the trunk helped a teeny bit. expanding foam killed almost every single rattle in my trunk, i highly reccommend that. hopefully after i move the latch, itll be DEAD
as for my rear deck, i deadened the deck and teh panel, and so no more platic/metal rattling problems. a definite good thing to do. but something else to watch out for is the deck rattling against teh glass of the window as well. I havent decided how im gonna take car of this yet, im thinking im just gonna get some cork and wedge it in there, i think that should about do it. but thats another possible rattle to look out for.....
expanding foam by FAR is teh best sound deader on teh market to date

costs $3 a can at a hardware store. you put it between the cracks of any metal that vibrates against itself (your trunk lid) then it expands and sets teh metal dead against itself so nothing can rattle. my rattle problems DISSAPEARED after that stuff.....
(be conservative with application, test it first on something)

if you use too much of minimal, itll buckle. i used minimal cause it was cheaper, my buddy got regular and kinda over sprayed a bit in my opinion, no buckling. it WAS a mustang, tho.....
you can get the super expanding stuff too! just gotta look out for that.... always test first!

<< i dont' have subs yet but i was just wondering if having a oem spoiler on top will lead to more rattliing or less (cause its heavier)?? >>
only one way to find out...

Im confused.....what is the trunk latch?
Is that the little U shaped thing where the lock on the trunk lid itself holds onto when the trunk is closed? Or are we talking about the lock part that's on the trunk lid?
