crackling from speakers

crackling from speakers
ok, my buddy and i just installed a sony explode deck and two pair of pioneer 5x7s in his ford ranger. when he cranks it up though the speakers crackle and its sounds pretty nasty. i was surprised cus the stock sys in my civic EX sounds good at full volume. anything i can do to fix the prob?

possibly it's the HU's lack of power, maybe a small amp for those 5x7s might help out
