Question Parasitic drain through Fuse 9 "backup" 2001 Civic EX

I have continuous 185 mA drain in the "backup" circuit. The drain starts at about 225 mA then after about 20 seconds it drops to steady 184-185 mA. When I pull the under-dash radio fuse the current drops to about 181 mA. when I pull the 10A fuse from circuit 9 in the under hood fuse box the drain drops to less than 1 mA. There are a lot of things on this circuit. How can I figure out which is causing the battery killing drain?

Any aftermarket stuff on the car, like a remote start or headunit?

Any work previously done?

I would start unhooking things from that circuit untill the draw went away.

How, where does one go about unhooking the following items which are on the circuit?

  1. Audio Unit.
  2. Data Link Connector.
  3. Gauge Assembly.
  4. Immobilizer Control Unit/Receiver.
  5. Immobilizer Indicator Light.
  6. Keyless Receiver Unit.
  7. Multiplex Control Unit.
  8. Security Control Unit.
  9. Audio Unit

Never said it would be easy.

I would start with the Audio and then go, keyless receiver, multiplex and gauge assembly.

I would also buy one of these:

Hi, I have a 2003 Acura EL 1.7 and fuse #9 labeled (Backup) is giving me the same issue you described on your original post. Did you ever resolve the issue?
Thanks

that circuit is often tapped for an aftermarket backup camera. if one was ever installed by you(or installed and possibly removed by a previous owner), i'd start there.

i'm assuming backup as in reverse lights

Backup is for items that require constant power. Clock, radio memory etc.....
