Hello,

I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX. Can anyone recommend a fused constant voltage supply (i.e., one that always has potential even when the engine is off) to connect to a CD receiver to? Since the original radio/casette could only be turned on when the ignition key was turned (to any other position than "off"), I'm assuming that there may not be any constant voltage wiring available in the original harness. Then again, something must be there for the station memory, clock, etc to work. Any thoughts?

there is a constant 12v input..which serves that function.. It's connected via a relay to the rest of the HU's functions..then the ignition lead gets a 12 volt signal it turns on the relay and the rest of the HU...you can run 2 12v constants in and use a switch to turn the HU on and off and not have it rely on the ignition lead...but..why?..

ok, dont touch the 12v constant and the 12v ignition wires!!! fuses will blow.....what you want to do, is take the cd player out, doesnt matter and connect the 12v ignition wire from the harness coming from the cd player (red) to the 12v constant wire (yellow)and there ya go this only works on aftermarket cd players tho......

No worries about blowing fuses..just disconnect the negative battery termnal before touching any wiring...
