Usually, when you go with custom kickpanels (I highly recommend going that route.) you will need to relocate the hood release and lose the foot rest. Not a big problem.

Unless those speakers mount REALLY shallow..that dude cut out some sheetmetal to get them to fit .. By the angling too, those kicks probably don;t offer a great sound stage or image too well. But are pretty compact and look allright.. Sacrificing your dead pedal is almost a must to get a good sound stage and decent imaging..
I can't see why for any reason at all that they built those kick panels like that. I mean the whole point is to aim the speakers towards you more. So all he did was make the speaker lower and further away but with the same angle in as the stock speakers already have. So he acomplished nothing by doing this and you can see in the pic that the colors are way off. And then that tweeter placement. What in the world.... Please somebody post this pic under the "WHAT NOT TO DO SECTION"

Don't knock it until you hear it. It might not look that great but it certainly has the potential to sound much better than stock. The point of using kickpanels is not necessarily to point the drivers at the passengers but to increase the pathlengths as much as possible which is what he has done. Some speakers do very well in an off-axis setup like that with the drivers not pointing directly at the seats, older model MB Quart speakers for example and some CDT models. You just never know until you get in the car and listen! Car audio is not an exact science by any means.
