2002 Civic LX Sedan Window Problems
2002 Civic LX Sedan Window Problems
I am new to this forum, and no offense to HT...but they are begining to be useless. I just bought a 7th gen Sedan for the wife, she begged for it...her exact words "I like it, its cute...lets get it"! No concern on how it ran or drove or anything, but it did check out with me.
Anyways, this morning she calls me and tells me that her window on the drivers door went up really slow and stopped about 3 quaters the way up. The windows were wet, and I remember that my moms 05 Accord does this. I am curious though, what causes this? I have never had to deal with power windows before, I have had all DX Civic's.
Any help would be great, maybe I can get this taken care of this weekend. Thanks in advanced!

Re: 2002 Civic LX Sedan Window Problems
Window problems are not uncommon with 7th gens.
Try putting a little force on the windows while they're going up, if it stops completely with little to no force, the motor may be on it's way out.
If it still pushes up with a decent amount of force, you may need some silicone lube to just lube up the rails.

Clean the tracks rubber insert top and bottom (take off door panel) Make sure the insert is in the track at bottom (I tacked my 05 lower edge with a tiny bit of Goop to make it stay in place)

thanks, sorry for not getting back to soon. I have been busy trying to get this thing cleaned up, accorns in the intake box on the resignator box side...rats apparently made it a home while on the car lot. I will get on the door as soon as I get the opportunity. Thanks for the quick reply though, I feel that I will be on here a lot more with her car. I want to get as familiar with her Civic as I am with mine.

Np, be forewarned, 7th gens came with a lot of problems.
