2002 Acura EL Driver Side Rear Power Window problem
2002 Acura EL Driver Side Rear Power Window problem
So on my way to class today my (driver) window stalled a little bit, (wasn't responding for a few seconds) then went up.
Being a little OCD I tried every window to see if they work, and the driver side rear window went down about a quarter way, and has been stuck there ever since. (won't go up, won't go down) That goes for both switches.
It hasn't rained forever in Vancouver, and isn't supposed to for the near future, but I'm obviously still worried about rain getting in, or the car getting broken into.
I did some forum searching, and believe it is either the switch, the motor, or the regulator. (All the fuses were fine) I have also heard some people suggest spraying some cleaning liquid to clear out some of the gunk.
Anyways are these things I can do myself? (Not mechanically inclined) I'm scared to even take off the door panel.
Any suggestions? Thanks for the help...

Re: 2002 Acura EL Driver Side Rear Power Window problem
A wiring diagram, a test light, some understanding, and a few pointed tests would reveal the problem accurately.
Good possibility it broke one wire in the harness between the body and the door. VERY common in cars that get the back door opened a lot.
You could peel back the rubber boot and find one of the thicker wires is broken where the wires flex.
Harness for the rear door is dirt cheap. I will never try to patch another one to get someone by again, they are that cheap.

Re: 2002 Acura EL Driver Side Rear Power Window problem
The LR window on my 05 stopped working (luckily it was up) I could see the dome flicker ever so slightly when attempting so I knew it was getting voltage to motor. I disconnected the motor and applied voltage direct to motor in both polarities...still would not budge.
