Mysterious green wires

Hey guys,

I know this is probably impossible to guess, but maybe you can help me.
I was tightening my throttle cable yesterday and I noticed some loose green wires by the firewall. They come through the grommet that also has a thicker blue wire coming through it.

So, what I'm wondering is two things:
  1. What is the blue wire? It runs to a module in one of the hoses coming into/out of the block?
  2. Any gueses what the green wires are? A tach the previous owner removed?

Re: Mysterious green wires

First one is the cable for the heater valve. It shuts off flow to the heater core when you have the inside temp set to cool.

Second looks like aftermarket or DIY. Could have been for an alarm or remote start. Follow the wires, see where they go.

Will do. I guess it's time to see if there's a module or anything on the other end of them. Thanks for the info on the blue wire though - that makes sense.

Re: Mysterious green wires

blue wire is actually not a wire, its a cable assembly that controls a valve. green is prolly from a shoddy aftermarket install of something. any normal person doesnt leave wires hanging like that, esp right near the throttle and cruise cables where they can get caught and cause all sorts of issues.
