Audio Input but no button??

Hi everybody!

I just bought a 2003 Civic HX the other day, and I just noticed that there is an Audio input in the car, but no aux button on the radio. I'm not sure if this was an unfinished project? Or if I'm just missing something...

Anyways... All help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Audio Input but no button??

Post up a pic of it.

Have you followed the wires to see where they connect?
Do this, you may find you could have answered your own questions.

My diagrams don't show any provisions for any accessory jack from the factory.
There WAS an accessory CD changer available, someone could have used those connections for an accessory input.

Or they had a different stereo to go with this jack you found, and just tossed the original back in to sell the car.
Maybe it is an IPOD add-on from the aftermarket.

This def looks non-factory to me.

Is it wired into the radio or its harness now?

To be honest... I have no electrical knowledge when it comes to cars... Haha. I'm guessing I'll need a non-factory cd player to access that?

Put duct tape over it then.
*POOF* it's invisible.
Out of sight, out of mind.
Act like it was never there, enjoy the factory CD player.

Re: Audio Input but no button??

It could be an aftermarket kit plugged in through the cd changer port. Try pressing the cd button twice. After the second press it should go to "Cd-c" mode if its hooked up. Scroll through the Disc numbers and track numbers while music is playing on your ipod until you come to a combo that plays the music.
