Installing radio on 03 civic

Is there, if any, a way to install a new stereo without the removal of the entire interior of the vehicle?????

i drive a 2003 honda civic lx
Im trying to install a new radio but cant seem to pop out the unit using tools.

Can they make this any more difficult?
I drove a ford tauras and all i hadto do to remove the old unit was pry out the dash kit and then unscrew it.,

That would be called sarcasm. And I did and the only DIY vid or instructions instructed me to remove the entire center console ...which just sounds absurd. Is there another way?

If the HVAC/Audio pod has never been out it is super tight (even tighter if the screws underneath are still in place) I had to reach in underneath and push out and grab edge with fingers and work it loose.

Re: Installing radio on 03 civic

There are two screws you need to get to that are only accessible after removing the center console. Don't be lazy, just go do it.

lol. cheers mate.

Ok, the entire center console is out, most of the clips are broken, still cant figure out the wiring harness or how anything is supposed to be wired.

How do i get the cigarette lighter off?
how do i take out the stock radio?
how do i install the new radio using the dash kit?
what do i do if the car doesnt turn on after?

damn, i miss my ford.

-The wiring is going to be the same as any other radio install. If you've done it before, it should be no problem.

-You don't need to take the cigarette lighter off

-Unscrew the screws holding in the stock radio

-Read the dash kit instructions, or google it! it's not rocket science!

-If the car doesn't turn on after, youve done something terribly wrong

P.S. There is a DIY write up/vid on just about any type of radio install for just about any vehicle. GOOGLE IT!

THose are the exact directions I'm following. It got dark out before finishing so 3 broken clips, a cracked plastic panel and a missing option slot cover later i had to call it quits..
