What do I need to install a headunit?

Just bought a headunit off ebay and it didn't come with any instructions or anything, just the faceplate itself and a remote.

Anyways, do I need any tools or kits to install the headunit or is it pretty straight forward like the DIY?

Thanks

You need a dash kit so the new head unit will fit the opening where the factory deck was. They come in two different types. You can get just a regular one where it just fits in the top half or you can get one that fills the whole thing where you can get rid of that drawer that the car came with. The one that replaces the drawer looks a lot better IMO..
You'll also need a wiring harness, some heat shrink, some solder, and some electrical tape. OR you can get the cool liquid electrical tape.. then you dont need the heat shrink. No clue on how much it costs though... anyways, have fun, don't short anything out lol

assorted screw/nut drivers, wiring harness, dash kit, i reccommend soldering the wires, if this is not an option, or if you are uncomfortable doing this, or unsure on how to, you can always use closed end crimp on connectors, the screw on connectors, butt connectors, or really any wire connector you choose... its pretty much straight forward as the DIY states, its a fairly simple install...

to avoid shorting anything its advised you disconnect your battery also make sure that if you sell your stock radio you know the 5 digit code otherwise they cant use it and seeing it wont be in the car s dealer probably wont give them the code under suspicion of theft
