Gauge and needles no light (blown?)

HI!
im from buenos aires, argentina.
i own a 2004 EX sedan

so today i decided to change the poor lightning of the climate controls and buttons with leds
i cant get the same lamps with led so i tried to install a led strip
but something went wrong, a shortcircuit produced, with some smoke and bad smell

and the rpm and speedometer rings had no light. the temperature and fuel ring light works fine. also the dimmer, the kilometers indicator, all the lights, the stereo etc

the needles are also dark, no light

so... any ideas? i will go to a honda service but here they took several days/weeks to work in your car

i´m very sad cause i tried to do an upgrade and i messed up another function

also the climate lights doesnt work anymore

thanks in advance

You could have burned out the dash light dimmer circuits with a dead short, All it takes is a LED connected backwards to be a dead short circuit.

I would start with removing everything you tried to install. Put it all back the way it was stock and original.

Then inspect ALL fuses in both fuseboxes.

Then take apart whatever let the smoke out. I'm going to guess it was in the gauge cluster. I would pull it out and look for burned spots in the electronics.

Then decide what to do with it.

Re: Gauge and needles no light (blown?)

thanks!

finally the fuses are all OK

but the cluster had a burned circuit and a pair of elements in bad condition. so a technician resolded them and replace the bad things

also all the bulbs of the climates control and buttons were burned

now all working fine

Good deal.
Probably far cheaper than replacing an entire gauge cluster.
