radio and power locks not working
radio and power locks not working
I just purchased a 2005 LX, and decided to replace the stock radio with one a bit fancier. I had little trouble getting the Radio/Climate Control console out, but when I plugged in the new stereo, it refused to power on. I pulled it out and put the stock radio back in, and that one refused to work as well. My first thought was that I had blown the radio fuse, but I pulled out the radio fuse and it didn't look blown.
I also noticed that the power locks would not work properly anymore. It used to be that if I hit the switch, it would lock all closed doors, no matter what. Now, it will only lock the doors if I have the engine running, or at least the car powered on. I also used to be able to lock all the doors by locking the driver's door with the key, but now that only locks the driver's door. I checked the fuse for the locks, and that one seems to be intact as well.

Re: radio and power locks not working
#9 "back up" is a 10 Amp fuse, right? There was a blown 7.5 Amp in #9.
And #3 is a 7.5 amp, right? there was a 10 amp in that one (not blown)
I just want to make sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me before I power the car on.

Re: radio and power locks not working
^Exactly fuses are designed to blow when a power spike hits them, keeping them from damaging your electronics so hypothetically if your radio could handle 7.5 amps and you put a 10 amp fuse in the slot, the fuse wont blow until 10 amps is exceed, allowing your radio to radio to receive too much power
