Head Unit Springs

I finally replaced my head unit faceplate ribbon a while ago. I got really big fingers and lot of bud light and I screwed up the springs that stabilize the cd player component in the HU. Heres a link to the pioneer website on what they are though..sorry no pics right now lol.

Btw the prices for the springs are nuts..get it...18 dollars for a "steel spring" thats smaller then my thumbnail.

They are basic springs....nothing special at all If you can think of alternatives let me know!!

Re: Head Unit Springs

If you can measure the dimensions - height, diameter, wire size, spacing/compressed length, you can try to find a replacement on mcmaster or another industrial supply store. This is what I'd check first. The diameter in particular is important as you can probably get any spring in that size and a similar rate, and grind it to length if need be.

There are some places that will make you any size spring, but that can be expensive too.
