Keyless Entry Question (tried other threads)
Keyless Entry Question (tried other threads)
Hi all
Im new here and new to the honda civics, but really proud to be one. However hopefully someone here can point me in a direction or help.
I just got a 2005 honda civic hybrid CVT. The keyless entry is not working and I've tried reprogramming, replacing battery, re-reprograming, checked fuses... The remote lights up and does not look like there is any damages. I've tried multiple ways to program it. The power locks work from the internal door button to lock and unlock although the keyless remote does not.
I'd like some advice on if the possible reciever is bad or something happen. From looking around it seems the module is under the radio. The radio works and is the OEM model. I have not tried another transmitter remote yet, but I feel like mine works.
Any suggestions on what the problem is and how I might look into it more. I cant seem to find much info on the module itself, but rather plenty of info on the keyless remote which I don't feel is the problem. In any case thanks in advance!
Jon S.

Re: Keyless Entry Question (tried other threads)
I have the same problem somewhat. Everything for the door locks works. Can lock and unlock all doors from the inside. I can lock with the key on the drivers side door and lock all the rest. Only the keyless does not work. Every once in a while it will work once to lock but very rarely. Have tried both of the transmitters I have. I have tried reprogramming it put in new batteries. Was wondering if my keyless receiver is bad. I have a 2004 civic EX.

Re: Keyless Entry Question (tried other threads)
Is the unlock working properly ?? Will it unlock the other door when pressed twice ??
Is the LED lighting on the remote each time ??
Get close to the drivers door when attempting to lock and listen for any noise from inside door when button pushed.

My led light on the transmitter works every time I push it. And I've pushed both lock and unlock buttons many of times right by the drivers door and by the console around where the receiver should be. Every once in a while the lock button will work but it is very random and very seldom. Even when I try to program it I don't see anything really working. I've had lots of other electrical problems with the car as well. Alternator replaced already same headlight going out a lot and a light in the dash going out and car only has like 75k on it.

You might try locating the reciever and moving the wiring connector while unlocking/locking to see anything changes (poor solder connection)
The dash bulb is just those neo-wedge bulbs, very common to fail.
