Oh me oh my...
Last weekend, I had the joys of ripping up the entire back of my car to install a better pair of 6.5s than the crapp carboard things you can find at the dollar sotre. I swear, if Honda wanted to be so damn cheap to put such crappy speakers in stock, they should have made everything easier to com apart. Anyway, those are in along with some tweets and the sound has improved a lot.
Just for the curious, this is what I put in...
I had to cut out my own bracket from a sheet of ply.
Pioneer TS-D1720C; the woofers are dual-layer IMX.
I have to rip it apart again later and put in some dampers... it's rattling against the rear glass
The tweeters are overhead on either side of the driver. The separation of sound is awesome.
The door speakers seemed to be okay so I left those alone, for now. I have a pair of JBLs that are itching for some action though.
To the point however...
This weekend I wanted to throw in the old deck from my not so recently parted with Neon; Sony CDX-GT420U. Nothing fancy but it can at least do something better with the new speakers.
Now comes the tricky part. After spending the last five hours searching google and this forum, I can't for the life of me find a relevant wiring diagram. Not at all. My harness does not seem to match anything that has come up for 7gen.
Is it possible that I am not dealing with the stock harness?
It also seems that I have lost the one link that had a diagram of the harness itself and not just a wiring colour scheme. Any help would be immensely appreciated.
Sorry for the poor pictures. They were taken with my blackberry.

That looks like the stock harness to me, i think
but it looks like a bunch of wires are missing
I can't really tell with the pictures that you have
But if you get a harness like
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=263602_304652
You can plug it in, and hook it up to the sony harness that comes with your deck

So your previous deck worked and functioned correctly right?
If so, you just need the Honda Adapter that I showed you
It goes
Factory Harness----Honda Adapter--[===]--Sony Adapter----Sony Deck
where [===] is the part where you crimp both adapter's wires with butt connectors

Don't laugh. I'm a bleepin' idiot.
That was the connector for the emergency blinkers.
It's been a long day. Will get sleep and connect it all quickly tomorrow.

yep, went to the car audio shop bright and early today, picked up the harness and it's all done.
the deck is definitely maxing out the front speakers so they're coming out next weekend.
the rest of today will be touching up chipped paint and then later going to the cafe to get some work done. Honda -1 point (cheap paint)
FYI. never drive around with the blinker switch unattached. ie. the one that connects to the harness in the picture. blinkers and signals seem to be on the same circuit or at least they needlessly pass through the same button. honda -1 point (design flaw)

It sounds really crisp now by the way... but I didn't want to put in a sub. I might want to now... first I'ma change out the door speakers though.
If that is still weird, then a sub is going in. The sound is definitely not even.
EDIT: For the record, despite the flaws, I actually do like the car.
