Im going to put a system, 2 12's and 1200 amp, into my 05 civic coupe soon and need some pointers... ive only run wires once, on an 85 mercedes, and it gave me hell!!! I need to know: the best way to run the wires, how to pop of the moldings, and the easiest way to do this... ive already installed an aftermarket stereo if that helps... i just got the car and its time for a little bit of thump... please help

for power, I ran mine straight from the battery, through a rubber grommet on firewall, passenger side of the center console, under the passenger side door sill, behind the rear passenger plastic part, and into the trunk. I ran the amp remote wire the same route. If you pull off the plastic bottom cover on the passenger side footwell and pull back the carpet, you can kinda see the grommet.

here's a view from the engine bay. Took this picture standing just forward of the battery, looking down into the engine bay. The grey shiny-ness at the top of the picture is my intake. That blue wire going through it is also just over ½" (it's 13.61mm, which is .53")


My speaker wires and RCA cables, I ran from the radio, underneath the center console, under the carpet, to the back driver side under the rear seat bottom cushion, and into the trunk from there, keeping wires carrying sound signals as separate from the power wires as humanly possible.

My knuckles didn't like me at all after routing the power wires. Lots of blood and skinned knuckles in cold, damp 40-50º weather made for lots of pain.. lol.

Since you installed an aftermarket headunit, you already know how to take the center console off

I ran RCA cables underneath drivers side doorsills and power+remote wires underneath passenger side sill. I did it right and R2'd panels on both sides. To do that I had to take out the rear seats to get underneath the panels in the side/rear. Most of the plastic just has little clips that pop right out and back in, maybe a couple screws and bolts that will be obvious. It was a pain in the dick but no exposed/rubbing wires. You have to run the power and RCA cables through different spots or you can get interference (humming and crap in the backround of your sound).

thank you this is VERY helpful!!! and one more question if i replace the speakers... since the guide riceboy told me to go to says they are paper cone... do i plug that into the amp? or do i just connect it to the same wires as the old speaker was connected to?

and if i have to wire it to the amp i have no idea where to connect it... kinda a newb when it comes to I.C.E. ... just started like last year
