2002 Civic EX remote unlock problem
2002 Civic EX remote unlock problem
So I was hauling some lawn chairs in the trunk yesterday. Put the seats down, jammed them in there and tied down the trunk. Once I got the chairs out I realized that the right back speaker got pulled from it's housing and is now hanging.
Since then the remote to unlock/lock the car only unlocks, it doesn't lock at all. I also noticed that the front and back interior light stay on even though the car and trunk are shut and locked.
How can I solve these problems? It doesn't look like the wire/relay got damaged, and it was just the speaker anyway?
Thanks guys!

I can't be 100% certain, but I'm highly doubting the speaker is causing all these issues, obviously. Lights being on is usually connected to the door/switch either not being closed, or stuck on.
If you are referring to the factory remote alarm system, I can't help you too much as most of it is controlled by the radio, but it's also possible that there is a relay that control the unlock/lock portion of the remote as well. I ran into this issue right after I bought my 6th gen and I came to discover that it was nothing more then the power lock solenoid in my door.
More details would make it a lot easier to diagnose a specific problem. Like which specific lights are malfunctioning, what alarm system do you have, which doors are affected, and I'm only going to be able to help you to an extent due to owning a 6th gen and not a 7th gen, but I will do my best to direct you in the right direction.

The alarm is not part of the head unit on the 7th gens.
What is common would be the multiplex control unit.
Maybe you damaged a wire leading back to the trunk light (which is fed from the multiplex)
