2003 Honda Civic GLI Stereo Head unit Installation
2003 Honda Civic GLI Stereo Head unit Installation
While trying to do this myself and finding almost nothing useful in google for this model I found this site, but google didn't find this excellent guide for this car until after I skinned all my knuckles and pulled off way too many panels.

I used this one for the doors.

If someone could edit the title of the thread to include more search terms like "03 04 Honda Civic Stereo Installation" it might help the next guy
Thanks - this is a really great forum going here.

Glad you like and welcome to the forums. Hopefully we will be hearing from you more often and unfortunately I'm unable to edit them because I'm neither a mod nor the creator. Glad you figured it out and if you have any other DIY questions, please feel free to check out

Re: 2003/2004 Honda Civic GLI Stereo Head unit Installation
No worries. I'm sure this thread will end up in the google results anyway. Really nice forum you guys have here - lots of great info. I will probably be hanging around in future
Also, if anyone is reading this while doing the stereo install - one thing was different on my car.
The shifter surround was screwed down with 6 self tapping screws from underneath and would not pull out - despite looking identical to the photos in the guide. Pulling the handbrake surround up and out exposed two screws - removing these along with the two that are exposed at the lower back of the sides of the plastic centre console when the seats are slid forwards along with the two plastic push-clips at the very front allowed us to remove the entire assembly.
The ashtray / lighter panel would not remove until we did this - there was nowhere to get purchase on it and we didn't know how it was attached.
If I had to do it again I would just remove the screws behind the ashtray (2) and prise the panel out and away from the dash (it is held in by the screws and six plastic clips). The bolts that hold the radio panel in are then exposed as per the guide.
