HID swap issue

I got a set of HID retrofits from a friend who never used them, i set it up in my 7th gen civic and now i have no low beams, the fuses under the hood seem to be fine not burnt but the headlight relays themselves are burning hot so i pulled them does anyone know if replacing them will fix the problem or should i get aftermarket ones with a better amperage rating?? help!

Re: HID swap issue

When using a retrofit from someone who may be questionable, whether it's a friend or not, your best bet is test everything from a battery first. You also sound like you wired it directly to the factory harness which is a huge no no in any HID form. If you need help with wiring them correctly, ask, and as for the low beam/high beam issue, I take it that again, you used the factory wiring and the retros may not be wired correctly. More information is required, thanks.
