All I had available was my phone for pictures so the pictures really dont do it justice. looks pretty sweet IRL. I dont think I like the ***** red, I might put them black and do the trim around the center panel red. Let me know what you think.

Re: New Ideas

yea, I'm not quite feeling the red *****, either. I pained the.. radio bezel, I guess you'd call it, a pretty close match to EBP.

Maybe some red accents, sure, but the whole **** red looks accidental in a way, for me.

Re: New Ideas

lol well what actually happened with the ***** was I was trying to knock out the little white filter so the LED would shine straight through and I was having some difficulty, so I tried to heat it up with my lighter like a dumbass and it discolored the ****, so I figured I would try something out. I'll probably paint it black again and just leave the ring around the inside red then do the "bezel" red. Once I get off my *** and get a camera and clean my car out ill put some pics up of the whole car and the finished paint job.

Re: New Ideas

@Riceboy.. JC why you chose to use SMD leds?

I just ordered a 100 white and a 100 uv 3mm leds for my conversion today.

generally brighter with a better beam pattern for what I'm doing. My gripe with 3/5/10mm leds is you have to carefully shave the plastic to make it diffuse the way I'd like it to, and by doing that, you end up giving the plastic part a frosted look which takes away from the LED's brightness, albeit very little. And instead of 1206-type SMD leds, I've been using PLCC/2-type SMD leds..

Only downfall to using SMD LEDs, it's a bit harder to work with them because they don't have leads attached to them, and it's easier to fry them with a soldering iron.
