HON98-AUX install on a 2005 Civic HX
HON98-AUX install on a 2005 Civic HX
Hey all I'm new here but have been reading the forums. I recently purchased a HON98-AUX for my 2005 Civic HX 5-speed. I checked out the following giudes
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...e-5-speed.html
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...installed.html
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...t-install.html
However my car is slightly different then I stumbled onto this guide and my car looks exactly like this: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...nda-civic.html
I've tried it but I cannot remove this part of the console. Does anyone know of any other way? I've already got everything else ready I just can't remove this darn part. Thanks in advance!

I was able to get it install and it sounds great I took some pics with my iPhone since the battery on my digital camera is bad. I'll post them up later on.
Re: HON98-AUX install on a 2005 Civic HX
Ok guys here's the pics and walkthrough. I know my car is filthy it's been raining so haven't been able to wash it before I installed this. It took me about an hour simply due to the fact I noticed my console was different from all the other consoles in the guides I've read. Then when I found a guide that was based on my console had a little trouble taking the piece out. You have to use a lot of force... don't worry it won't break that's what I was scared of when I started this thread.
All the tools and parts I used:

My RCA to 3.2mm wire spliced and red, white and ground wires separated

Prepare to solder.

Soldering job

Soldering job (reverse side)
PLEASE NOTE I used tiny pieces of electrical tape on the red, white and grounding wires after I was done then wrapped the wire in more tape to keep it secure. I forgot to take a pic of that.

Part of my console removed and the HON98-AUX installed. This part took the longest due to my hands being too big but I eventually got it in there.
PLEASE NOTE I have a 2005 Civic HX which is slightly different than other models I only needed to remove this part of my car instead of the stick shift way. I followed this guide: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...nda-civic.html

I took this piece out and drilled a 1/4'' hole in the middle... I copied this guide (https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...installed.html) I even used the same exact 3.2mm front panel mount. If you have an Altex around the item number is 502K and it costs about $1.60.

Everything put back together. My car is filthy

Testing one last time with my girl Tanisha

Closeup of the aux input while being plugged in. More filthy car!

If you have any questions let me know.
