Weird Headlight Problem

I have a 2004 Civic Hybrid, and the right headlight has gone out on it. I replaced the bulb, and it didn't work. I then replaced the headlight fuse, and it still doesn't work. I'm not sure what else to try. I've done an Internet search and I've heard people suggest "checking the ground" or "replacing the headlight switch," but I'm not sure how you check the ground on just one headlight, and I've never heard of replacing a headlight switch. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Maybe the replacement bulb was defective?? Or someone dropped it.

Re: Weird Headlight Problem

certain civics have a recall for the headlight switch going bad when a wire burns out. the grounds for the headlight harness are behind the front bumper on the two sides. its possible one of them is corroded.

Re: Weird Headlight Problem

umm, well the recall was for 01s and some early 02s.

Grounding is provided through the headlight switch for the high beams and the low beam is directly grounded. ( for the 2 bulb per side systems)

You could have an open connection at the socket. You could test by gently moving the wires near connector and headlight connector itself to see if the light flickers or tries to work (don't break bulb)
