Newbie here... Head Unit Question
Re: Newbie here... Head Unit Question
Personally, I've always been a fan of Pioneer. I'm on my fourth one -- not because the previous three broke, but because Pioneer came out with something new, and I had to have it!
I usually end up selling the older ones or giving them to friends.
I will say that I agree completely with Gearbox in that your install needs to be done correctly; solder or crimp your connections rather than "twisting and taping", for example. Crutchfield is an excellent online retailer that I've used many times, mainly for their customer service and support, which is superb. With every head unit purchase, they include the needed wiring harness adapter for your car and "master sheets" - vehicle-specific step-by-step instructions on how to install your new hardware.
