laptop connections

Question: How do I hook up my laptop to my car stereo? What do I need? Couldn't I just hook the audio outputs on my laptop to the input on my headunit? Or are those sub outputs on my headunit?

Thanks guys/gals

Need to know this for aLONG trip.

Does your deck have an dedicated input jack? Or is it a cd changer dedicated input or a XM dedicated input? If it is just a dedicated input jack then all you will need is a cord with a 1/8" plug to RCA plugs (these usually being red and white). If it is a cd changer or XM dedicated input then you will need to have a cd changer or XM kit and then just by-pass the sound coming out of the changer or the XM kit and use a dual RCA coupler and the afore mentioned cord and your good to go. Just change your source to CD changer or XM radio. If you don't have an input jack, cd changer or XM radio you could obtain a radio transmitter from Worst Buy (Best Buy) or some other electionics store for $20. Just plug it into your 12V socket and then into your laptop and you will be set to go.

Hmm I really honestly don't have a clue whether it's xm or cd changer. First the cd changer has it's own little black thing to plug into on mine. I don't have xm radio so I don't have plugs for that. I have 2 sets of red and white plugs.

I have made a custom mount just for long rides so my girl and I don't die of boredom.
