Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
This one was a big one I will quote his review so you can read it.
So Matt helped me install a kickass system in my 2008 Accord. It took a couple of days and a lot of driving but it was definitely worth it. Matt is a chill guy and we got along well right from the start.
I pulled into his driveway on Saturday morning a little before 8am and he had all of his tools and supplies laid out and ready to go.
We installed:
JL C5-650 components in front
JL C5-650x coaxials in rear
JL Slash 300/4v2 amp
Infinity 10" Basslink
JL CleanSweep
MTX Re-Q
Dynamat Xtreme on floor, doors, rear deck and under back seat
We started off by stripping the interior of the car:

Then we jumped right into laying down the Dynamat .. here is the passenger's-side floor:

Door before Dynamat

Door after Dynamat

Fuse holder mounted

Cleansweep wired up, not yet secured

Amp being wired up

One of the rear crossovers mounted

Finished!!

Overall it took us about 25 hours spread out over 4 days (with breaks and stuff). Matt made the two and a half hour drive up to my place twice without hesitation. He did great work and I learned a lot along the way .. if you need any car audio stuff done, contact matt (AIM reimermatt), you won't regret it.

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Here are a few older installs 97 Volvo 850. It was probably one of the more easier installs I have done. Here are some picks of the install.
The loot

The wiring harnesses getting ready to be all soldered

The hole for usb port

The usb port

The sirius radio power plug lets mod it a little

Open it up

Solder it up

Heat shrink it all ready for being wired behind the dash after being wrapped in electrical tape.

Location of sat radio needs some mounting

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
All those were some older builds I have done. I am getting ready to be flown to LA for 2 more 370z installs, on top of that 2 more local Z's in my area.

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
This guy is seriously one of the nicest people I've met in a while, after talking via AIM for an hour or two, we met up and got my aftermarket head unit to work. Very friendly and well mannered. Def hit him up if you need help, highly recommended!
Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Thanks man, it was good to meet you and see a nice si. I am glad I got everything resolved for you. Hope to hear from you soon for the rest of the system upgrade. As for anyone else that needs help just let me know and I can help out.
Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
I have an Alpine CDA-9805 CD player/radio. Recently the volume of the radio has gotten very low. I can only make out a couple of words occasionally if everything is quiet and the car is not moving. If the car is moving, or if there is any noise, I can barely hear the music and can not make out any words. I live in Seattle. Do you have any suggestions?
Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Well it can be a number of things, the first thing that comes to mind is that the internal amp could be going out OR could be shut off "if you are using the internal amp to power the speakers" Look for something in the setting about internal amp on and off. If you are using a external amp it could be that the rca pre out puts are going on it, or the amp could be failing. It also could be but a very slim chance that the speakers are being grounded out on a piece of metal and muting the power that the internal amp is putting out. It is an older unit but not that old, if none of those things work call up alpine and tell them what is going on even though ti is probably out of warranty, they are very good at repairing them for free or at a low price. Let me know what you find out so I can help you more. Good Luck
Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Here is one I did a while ago, it was a friends car.
Okay so today I started on my friends Honda civic i believe its a 91 but not sure. He installed the system himself and I will give him his props he did a good job. But now loaded with the right knowledge and my help we are going to overhaul the entire system. So enjoy the pics and the work to come.
The ride

The center counsel

Torn out

The small power wire sight and it was running a sony 1200 watt amp

Can we see the difference?

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
e got started today by running the wires. Here are some pics.
The factory grommet

Running of the 4 gauge

Running the 4 gauge threw the grommet

All ran threw the fire wall

Running the wire threw the wall always needs a helper. Just so happened he was there to learn and work. He like to get to work and learn.
"pic in a bit"
Ran threw some holds in the floor braces.

Me and him just taking a nice shoot of us and our cars.

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Okay did some more work today. This day I re ran the angle eye wires.
The wires as they basically were

Soldered the + wire

The wires all hidden the + wire is under the intake and the ground is under that rely bolt on the left. The wire was ran threw expandable tubing and the solider point was covered in head shrink

The right side all tucked in

The wire ran to the fire wall before it actually was ran threw

Put the Kicker L5'sin the trunk as well

More work done tomorrow!!!!!

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Okay yesterday we got back to working on the car. After the 2 days of rain. We fabricated the bracket for the fuse holder, and finished the angle eye power wire and the sub connections.
Measuring the hole locations for the bracket.

Jerry's first time using a drill press I let him drill the holes.

Brackets location made some pilot holes for easier install of the taping screws.

What the bracket will look like mounted

Bracket installed

Fuse holder installed going to cover the wire in black expandable mesh tubing

The wires for the angle eyes installed all soldered to the switch

Both subs wired up to make out to 2 Ohms

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Haven't rely done much these past days. But here are some more panels that have been repainted.

More work after the rain stops some more real progress can begin again. LOL

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Okay today we finished up the spray painting. Also made some gap brackets for the amp to sit up on so the wires can be ran underneath.
Here is Jerry cutting the wood for the gap brackets.

A look at how it will sit.

Painting them

How it looks painted it will set on top of the sub box.

The final pieces all done painting

Next pics will be speakers and head unit

Re: Need Help? Let Me Know
Yesterday finished the amp install and installed a temp head unit to test it out. Sounds rely loud to loud for me but for him it's good.
Quick wiring up to test it.

Wired it up with wires all tucked.

All finished with that

Wires all cleaned up will probably clean them up a bit more.
