CD player drops?

I have a curious problem with my OEM CD player. When I accelerate the CD player "drops", when I decellerate, It comes back on.
Anyone got any ideas what this is about?

Re: CD player drops?

It turns off altogether, sometimes with a slight crackle. then it comes back, I "think", I only noticed this this morning, never having used the CD player or radio before, that the CD display changes back to the clock when this occurs.

This is on a 2005 7th gen btw. with an OEM CD player.
