High Output Alternator Help

Im having trouble finding the right alternator for my car. Im pushing almost 2000 watts through a multi amp setup... not good for stock electrical system. Headlights dim like a mother and Im afraid my alternator is gonna go soon. Im looking for a good high output alternator but i dont wanna spend my entire summer work load for one. Tried ebay.. no luck. Searched the forums and came across alterstart. A member said he paid just over 260 or so if i remember right. That sounds great to me. Searched alterstart and came across this http://superpageshosting.com/4alters...a&catuid=10013 $350?!?! wtf. Anyone know where I can find a good cheap high output alternator? links please!

sorry you had to read so much.

Re: High Output Alternator Help

High output alternators don't come cheap. You get what you pay for.
I have a 200amp in my truck and I think it was just shy of $400.

Here. Give these guys an email. They always have the HO alternators for the 7th gen, but don't always list them on their Ebay storefront.

Re: High Output Alternator Help

usually good and cheap together is hard to come buy lol...i got mine on ebay though i think it was like 170amps... helped big time.. but i also upgraded with a optima yellowtop at the same with..and not the one that was made for our car.. i got a yellowtop for like a GM or something..its like 2x the size of our tractor battery. i believe a yellowtop for our car is like 450cca.. i got the D34 which is like 750 that along with the high output alternator is amazing

I just took a look at this site, looks like they have what I need. However I want to ask just to make sure that these are worth the money and they're not some cheap imitation that's going to burn out and take my car with it. Does anyone know for sure if these specific alternators are quality? I need to buy one this week.

Re: High Output Alternator Help

that's odd. they used to. i know because i almost bought one for my 02. i'd give them a call. their website sucks anyway, so maybe they don't have it listed and don't realize it.
