Install a new head unit into a 2003 civic

Hello!

I want to remove my old head unit and install a new DVD player. Does anyone know how to remove the old head unit?

Could someone point me to the right link, I tried searching but all I get is removing the head unit from other type of civic but not my model.

https://www.civicforums.com/forums/a...6&d=1198147586

for the link of the inside of my car

Thanks

Pull shift ****. Pop off shifter trim bezel. Remove two 8mm bolts mounted thru bottom of radio. Entire radio/AC control bezel will remove as one.

Well everything I can find shows it just pops off, but that it is very tight. Either way, you have to use an offset tool to get the bolts off so it might not be your best bet.

Try this instead:
Remove the driver side underdash. The tabs should just turn 90 degrees and the panel should come out.
Open the glovebox, and remove the glovebox stops. Let the glovebox hang down.
This should give you enough access to remove the two bolts that hold the entire center dash bezel in. After removing the bolts, the radio/AC controls bezel will all come out as one piece.

Remove gear ****, squeeze boot and lift the lower panel along with it and it should free up a 6 o'clock. Coax the lower half of the panel off the shifter, the top panel including the radio follows pretty easily. Didn't have to use pry tools. Surprised me it was that easy.
