So I just purchased a new head unit for my car (JVC kd-bt1) and Ive figured out how to take the old deck out thanks to a great DIY on this site, but Im still not really sure on how to put the new one in. Ive read that I need a wiring harness but the head unit did come with something that I think might be one but I'm not totally sure. it also came with some screws and brackets, how will I know if I need these? Some tips on how to do the wiring connections and just general guidelines to installing this would be greatly appreciated.

You need to purchase a stereo wire harness. It plugs directly into the factory wire harness and then allows you to wire the other end into your new head unit. Here's an example of a wire harness

hi there,

wel first of all u hav to strip de dashboard a bit..like de bottom part of the dashboard..nd der's a special lume for all de honda's u can get it from anywhere..i mean from a ICE shop...now de things which u hav to strip is de glove box side de centre panel n de drivers side bottom panel of de dashboard...den only u can see the bolts to screw off de head unit fittin..once u hav opened it screw on de brackets on de sides where ur headunit is suppose to go so it can hold de headunit..once its screwed den jus fit everythin back!!its a hard job but its easy...haha..i mean u rly need patience for tht..it took me 1nd a half day to put in de amp n bass system!but dun wry dis is only a headunit it will be easy.if u hav any further questions in which i can help..den jus dun hesitate to ask me!

well 85gp4 is exactly right...as i told u dat u need a special lume for honda's may be u do have it but still its better off to check!coz i had to wait for 2 days for my lume!lollz.o yea nd a=does anybody knw here dat how to n where to find de 16pin scan socket on de honda civic vi-rs...its jus bein pain in ***...my srs light shows up in de dash!please reply if anybody knows in here!thankin uzzz!
