I Need Help Finding A Place To Install This Subwoofer Wire!!!!!

i have a 2003 honda civic si, and i need to know where to put the power cable to the subs from the battery. does anyone know where to put it through at? i read on some threads that there is a rubber grommet somewhere by the battery, but all of those are on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

or you could run the risk of hitting something vital by locating a spot and drilling your own hole. make sure you use a grommet of some type to protect the cable from grounding out on the chassis/firewall though.

just do like i did, find a suitable hole in the engine bay, run a wire snake/fish-tape or wire coat hanger through the hole and use that to pull your power wire through.

Have Fun!!

Re: I Need Help Finding A Place To Install This Subwoofer Wire!!!!!

In order (From Battery)POS+

1 FT cable

Vamp fuse - Gold plated

Cable from Vamp fuse through firewall
*Look for any means of access using a OEM inlet rubber grommet, plug etc....Every car, truck, suv has em, just look and youll find.

Run the rest of the cable under the carpet to where-ever your Amplifier is located.

GROUND-

From battery run 4G to the chassis ground.

From the Amplifier run 4G to the chassis ground.

I even suggest running 4G from the chassis to the engine where-ever Honda has theirs, Simply remove the OEM cable in place of good 4G with ALL goldplated connections.

REMOTE

From the headunit to the Amplifiers REM input, This turns the amplifier on/off via ACCESSORIES.

Speakers/Subs
*If you cannot figure this step out.....You should take your car to a Pro.

Direct CAP InPut - Warning! Do this in the exact order below!

.A.
Make the connection to the NEG- from the Capacitor to the Amps DIR CAP NEG-

.B.

Assuming the POS+ cable is firmly connected to the amplifier.....
~Charge the CAPACITOR to FULL state using the supplied bulb by tocuhing one side of the supplied bulb and/or resistor to the POS+ cable to the POS+ of the CAPACITOR.~
Once it reaches FULL CAPACITY, Immediately make the connection NOT letting go of it, bolt it down firmly. Do NOT over tighten the allan head bolt on the CAP.

Re: I Need Help Finding A Place To Install This Subwoofer Wire!!!!!

I was under the impression that a cap and your amps should not share a ground, as in a ground distribution block. Is this not a good practice?

I installed mine with seperate grounds (seat belt attaching bolts under the back seat with star washers and paint ground off appropriately). (No ground loop noise or charging problems either, unless I bump a bit too long without the car running...

Re: I Need Help Finding A Place To Install This Subwoofer Wire!!!!!

hmmm? interesting seeing as the Cadence Z1000 amplifer i have has both POS+ and NEG- for the CAP seperately, then the + and - for power/grnd cables.

oh well...the system i have moves A-pillars, B-pillars around 1/2" so its all cool man!
