LED Gauge wiring?
LED Gauge wiring?
Ok i've been doing the LED gauge cluster change over.
the only thing i'm not sure on is how and where to wire in the LED's.
i have them in series but do i need to install its own dimmer or can i wire it to the cluster along with the power?
i've been searching the forums and cant' find any refference to it.
what 12v power source do i run it to?
can it me attached to dash dim switch?
please help.
this is what i'm trying to do:

Re: LED Gauge wiring?
Well, you could run it from the battery with an inline fuse, from the fuse box with an add a circuit, or off the cig lighter probably. As for the others I couldnt tell ya- you read through all of gear box's posts on his conversion and how to right?

Re: LED Gauge wiring?
for power, yea just wire them into the power for your stock guage cluster. its the red and black wire, on the blue connector side i believe. I didnt think you could dim LED's...

Re: LED Gauge wiring?
i did this swap on an 04-05 cluster for another member on here. i put pics of the whole swap up somewhere. his name is heatzil. you can dim them with a pot if you wire it inline with your power. and i hope youre adding more led's than that picture has. your cluster will be dark as hell. i used like 40-50 on heatzils. you need to light the needles too. and i hope the guages still work when you put it back together. the 04-05 cluster is very sensitive and tend to **** up. i think im the only one that has completed the swap successfully. hope yours goes well.
