I have a 15" memphis m3 sub its the M3154D. Im looking to build a custom enclousre for it that will easily come in and out of a 2003 honda civic. i looked at the enclosure recommendations from memphis. here is the link to these recommendations, Welcome to Memphis Car Audio click on support then on enclosure recommendations. Here is what they recommend for my sub. This is 1 sub vented optional.

3.5 cubic feet
36hz tuning frequency (have port tuned to 36hz)
Port size of 15.5X1.75X17 (HXWXD)

With these recommendations im trying to build a box that will fit in my civic. so the height needs to stay at 17.5 or less. the width cant be over 33" either. the rest can be played with however needed. the box i came up with is roughly
23 3/16 X 17 X 19.5. that comes to 3.5 cubic feet but i was wondering if that would work for the port size recommendations.

Also when it says a port length of 17, do i have to angle the port into the box. Like make an L shaped port wall? this is the only thing i dont understand. Any help would be awesome. thanks guys.

if it helps, i have a coupe and my current box is
33" wide/19" deep/15" tall which is 3.5 cubes after displacement @ 32hz. its a tight fit but i could've easily gotten about 1 more inch on the depth. the height (15") was pretty close to hit my trunk torsion bar.
