Wiring Navigation problem...
well, i recently installed a Pioneer Avic D1 navigation in my 2005 Special Edition and it was fryed/fried. The 3 possible reasons i can think of:
1) the 1999-2005 wiring harness that i used is somehow different than the 2005 Special Edition wiring harness?
2) on the navigtation, there is an orange wire for light or something of the sort. on the wiring harness there were 2 options for either "illumination" or "dimmer" and i didn't know which one i need to connect to the navigation's light.
3) i could have just got a defective product.
anyways, i had sent back the fryed/fried unit and just received a new one today and am scared to install it the same way as the last. for those who know about it, i did the "avic d1 bypass" to the last one, and it was working perfectly for the first 2 hours of my road trip; i was watching movies and searching for addresses while driving and everything as the bypass allowed it. i know i did the bypass correctly, but i am just wondering if anyone knows about the first 2 options above.
thank you guys for your time and i look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. i can't afford to ruin another unit.
