Oh Great! Spending More $$ on I.C.E.
I didn't mean to, but...
It all started last year when my son (Little Sonny Honda?) traded me a set of Niche Shocking Shocks, an Infinity amp, and a JL 15W6 for some Konig Verdicts. What he failed to mention was the amp was dead and the sub had a burned voice coil!
After grounding him I returned the amp under warranty for a little MTX amp to power the Infinity components in the door. The JL sub was not under warranty, so it has just been sitting in my house (when I called JL about obtaining parts, they said "return to an authorized dealer so they can send it to us for re-manufacturing").
This week I got tired of doing without bass, so I have ordered a Rockford Fosgate Power BD500.1 and an Audiobahn AW1500X sub. That sub is more for the SPL end of the sound spectrum, but I figure if I miss SQ I can always get the JL repaired down the road.
Comments? Advice? Is that amp tough on the alternator?

Your stocl sytem can handle that NO problem... as for with that sub.. you'll want to drop it in a sealed enclosure about 2.1-2.5 cu.ft to maintain a semblance of sound quality and Still get some good Bump..

the stock alternator is plenty, i have a bd1000.1 and a rd360.2, the car was still getting 11-14volts of power when the thing was cranked up
ofcourse i have a cap
i do recommend getting a cap though, the system dims even when i only had the 360 ( rated at 522)
