Tell me about DEI?
okay so i've read a lot of threads where DEI comes up and i was wondering how they rate (components) compared to MB Quart. I'm from west coast so i dunno maybe this is a east coast thing.

DEI Studio components are pretty dang good spacially for their price... they have good midbass very detailed midrange, tweeters are a little weak though...it's only drawback..stilla very clean sound though
My whole car is done by DEI (well both my Accords were) I haven't bought the mids and highs yet for my 2k2. I'm gonna wait to put everything in at the same time. Anyway they are excellent speakers. I had the DEI Studio Seperates up front (very loud tweeter) I'd recommend the seperates if you have an EX an put the tweeters in the factory location. I had DEI Pro + 6x9's in my '92 Accord and I had the DEI Studio 5.25" in my '95 Accord. I have 2 12" DVC Studio Subs everything powered by a Directed (DEI) 500 for mids and highs and a Directed 600D for my subs. Don't let the size of that 600D amp scare you, bigger doesn't always mean better. I have it running at 1 ohm and it is pretty damn loud. Not too many amps in the price range can run at 1ohm. DEI just came out with a new line of Audio, you might wanna wait and check it out. Its Viper Audio. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with DEI. The make excellent alarms (Viper, Hornet, Wasp, Avital, Clifford etc..) and they make great audio equipment as well. They may not be as well known as say Rockford or Kicker, but they have only been in the car audio scene for a few years. I'm will be sticking with DEI products for a long time.
