Assuming the 7893 has an Ai-net interface on the back - for simple connectivity for playback, you will need the Alpine KCA-121B and an rca to minijack conversion cable. total cost would be under $30.

dont no all the fancy names but i just used a cable that on one end has the audio video plugs(yellow and red) and on the other end has a headphone jack...hooked it up to the input spots in the back of the stereo and ran it under the center console and threw the little compartment next to the ebrake...like 6 bucks from walmart

myinca - the Alpines don't have RCA inputs. you HAVE to use a conversion cable in addition to a second RCA to minijack cable.

Let me know how everything turns out. Since school is out and I dont really jog anymore I have no use for my ipod. So as a weekend project I wanna connect it to my headunit. Its an Alpine as well but this is what I plan on getting :http://www.crutchfield.com/S-8Qi4elq...500KCA420I#Tab

From what the reviews I've read so far sound like it's pretty easy to install.
