More updates on My ICE with my laptop
I've been workin on my system a lot lately and have always wanted a in car computer, but im too lazy\broke to mold\buy touch screens and all that crap so i used my laptop, then i bought a kappa perfect 12 and built the most sealed box i've ever seen, when i push on the sub it's like squeezing a basketball it doesn't move. pics!
Laptop closed on the mount:

Laptop Opened on mount:

Laptop in Passenger mode:

New Trunk\Sub box:

Door to Spare:

I still have a lot to do, i need to carpet the trunk\box, I'm still in the midst of building my own preamp cuz laptops only have 50mwa X 20Ohm output which my clarion doesn't like too much, After that, I'm building a charger for the laptop (again, too broke to buy a new charger and power inverter). Oh and BTW, the laptop is velcro'd to the mount so i can take it out, then the mount can fold up completely so it looks like nothing is there at all.

well i took it for a dry run with the laptop hooked up and it was quite funny when i drove by this movietheater to go get gas cuz people didn't hear music, they heard Underworld 2, then they looked and saw a 15.4" widescreen playing a movie thats not even out on dvd on a stereo that rumbles your ***** more than a movie theater, ahhhhh it's the small things in life that make me love my vic....now i need to hurry and finish that damn preamp...does anyone even know the difference between tube preamps and op amps?
Uh....man this is hard stuff.
An op amp amplifies the difference between 2 channels. All i know is an op-amp can amplify small voltage signals to an optimal level. This is what they use to amplify devices such as hand held games, head phones, and i think some cell phones.
The only knowledge of tube amp is that a tube the will effect the signals before it comes to a solid state.
This is some moderate electrical engineering stuff here. Good luck with it.
If you really have time and effort, tube amp > op amp

i just got done building the preamp, right now i've got it running off 4 9 volt batteries and a switch, i'm still in the midst of finding a 12v dc to 20v with a center tap to build the charger, then run the preamp of the center tap...
