drop in HO alt

is there a drop in high output alternator available? many people recommend getting them rewound from shops but im just wondering if theres a direct replacement. I know one member here had that GM small case alt project going but it seems to be taking a while to get a product that can be mass produced to sell to us.

I wouldn't call it drop-in, but there is a seller on ebay that has them. I bought one off him for my civic way back when. was really nice. if u can't find it, I will try to.
