Alpine Type-R
Alpine Type-R
Hey folks, sorry if this is a repost.
Is anyone out there running Alpine Type-R subs in their 7th gens? If so, how do they sound? Just wondering because they will probably be the next subs I will buy.

I have heard the type R, they sound really good. Lots of bass.
The other weekend i was at the electronics store and I saw they had type x subs, i didnt even know that alpine made these, they had a huge magnet and the 12 sub was rated at max 3000watts. Those subs must put out a whack load of bass.

i have owned audiobahn subs, kicker solobarics, and heard plently single type-r sub setups in a hatch and sedan.
the type-r is a very nice sub, it has great amount of spl being in a sealed box and the sound quality is better than my kicker solobarics. i eventually got tired getting loud from my solobarics and sold them to get some sound quality subs; alpine type-r, infinity perfect, or some sort of jl audio. but it wasnt louder than my solobarics for sure

I have two type r's right now with a modded rockford bd1500 amp, around 1800 rms, will soon have three installed and possibly two strapped bd1501's. The three will have 10 cubic feet ported box tuned to 30hz. i recommend the type r's to anyone

i've run 2 type Rs (older, 300rms) w/ my 601S (rockford 600rms) then I switched to 1 10" (newer one thats 500rms) and I've never really cranked it a ton but it sounds great even when its turned up.

is that 10 NEt or 10 gross? if its net the box is way too big
cool guys, thanks. Right now Im looking at a 500rms mono amp (alpine), thought that would push one type r 12 well. I would get a type x, but I dont have 1500 to spend on an amp.
What box would you recommend then?
