Question 8s in em2 doors...

just like the title, em2, looking to put kicker rmb8s in the doors as midbass drivers... just curious who's done it so far, and what little quirks to expect...

i've done them on a few 2g dsms, and my evo, i just bought the civic last weekend, looking to start in the next few days...

also, for those of you with q-forms, how well do they match the interior plastic? and for those of you w/5spds, how far do they protrude?

it's still too cold up here to fiberglass, looking to use the q-forms as a temporary solution...

thanks in advance!!

Kicker makes a SSMB6 which is what i have, you may try that and keep the stock look. Or custom make a cut our and fiberglass it in. Kickpanels are going in soon to, shouldn't be to bad.

i don't think the drivers will fit behind the grill just because they are probably to deep.

ajhdragon: the Kicker SSMB series are very shallow speakers, more shallow then any other speakers. Its amazing how thin they are but how much bass and how well they sound.

it might be an issue just because of the contours in the plastic

i've never personally tried it, but ive had issues fitting some of the beefier 6/5 inch midbasses in there

making a simple baffle with a nice stealth grill wouldnt be too hard if you have an extended glassing experience

well i opened up the door a couple days ago, and it shouldn't be a problem at all. i'm using kicker rmb8s, anyone that's seen em, knows they have less mounting depth then most 6.5s out there. I'll have pictures when i'm done.

Yea, told you the Kicker SSMB series are shallow, people under estimate the size and depth of these badboys, and not to mention the sound of them are outstanding.
