Driver's side coupe door removal - problems!

I have everything off of the door - the power window controls, door latch, triangular piece that fits on the tweeter (or where it would be if I had one) - and I have as far as I can tell all the clips popped, because my door panel seems to be just hanging from the top. I've rolled down my window just in case that was the problem, and it might be that the door lock (the one with the red dot that goes up and down when the door is locked/unlocked) is keeping the panel on, but it doesn't really seem to be the case, the door just seems stuck at the top. Are there any of those clips at the top of the door? I only found two, one in each of the top corners, and I assumed there were none along the window seal. Anyone else had this problem?

the panel sits on the ledge of the door skin, did you try lifting up and towards you?

well I can't pull it up AND towards me because the little piece that goes up/down when you unlock/lock your door keeps me from pulling it towards me until I pull it up completely away from that piece - which is what it won't do. It will go up about an inch, then stop. Does that piece come off with the door panel, because it seems to move separately?

You should be able to remove it from what you are describing.

You did remove all the screws too right?

Roll down the windows and try it again...there shouldn't be anything at all that's holding the door in.

I believe there is another screw or 2 behind the plastic piece behind the door handle. Its a rectangular piece you have to take off. Behind that rectangular piece, there's at least one screw if I can remember.

never mind - found the problem.

I had to pull up a LOT harder than I expected, but this due to the fact that there is a small clip in my '04 coupe that is behind the door lock (up/down deal), I could only move it up an inch, and then I SHOULD have pressed on the door panel where the clip is, on the part that I could see now that had previously been behind that little door lock. Instead I just pulled up hard and it gave, :-)
