Need help boosting fm receiving power of external tmc/r/ds device.
Hi, I recently bought a device that uses tmc/rds to receive traffic information from fm stations. I've noticed that my unit's included antennae (2 2ft copper wires) aren't receiving a good enough signal when I'm 30 or 40 miles away from the transmission source. I would like to somehow connect my car's antennae to my tmc/rds receiver. Is this posssible and would doing so increase the tmc/rds receiver's range?
I think I would need to get a (fakra, motorola or whatever my car uses) splitter. One will go to the car's antennae, The 2nd I will strip and and connect the exposed metal to my tmc/rds receiver's antennae. My car is a 03 civc hybrid incase anyone may know what antenaae connector that uses.

All hondas use a standard motorola antenna end. This might sound complicated, but you can get a nissian diversity antenna adapter, the reverse version of that, a VW antenna adapter with the amplifier in it, a reverse version of that, and a 24 inch antenna extension. I believe that will all work, but let me check at work today, I'll take pics of the parts you would need.
