I need some help where to mount my antenna the thing is my cable is not long even to reach to the trunk that is where i want to mount it at. I temp. mounted on top of the hood , but if i mount it inside the car i wouldn;t get a good signal. Anyone know a good place to mount the antenna or where i can i get expand MCX cable to make the cable longer?

hmmm nine feet isnt that much to work with. Try mouting it on the roof right behind the winshield and running it down the winshield gasket then into the car through driver side or passenger side door. It's going to be a tight fit

put it under your dash. find a spot that doesnt have metal over it, and you'll be set. my antenna is deep in the dash above the glovebox. piece of cake to install.

how many antennas can you get a lock on compared to having it outside the car?

memory is fuzzy. its one of these two situations:

7 out of the car, 6 under the dash

or

6 out of the car, 5 under the dash.

I cant tell you the time difference it took to nab a satellite lock. I'd say trees and clouds were a bigger factor.

yeah. I was racking my brain how the heck I was gonna get my antenna to look like the stock ones we see nowadays on accords, mercedes, bimmers and the like, when derek simply said put it under the dash, plastic doesn't interferre with the signal.

he was right. I simply wrapped my reciever in carpet for padding and stuffed it up there. works beautifully.

I've got a BU-303 (I think that's the model name) and I ran it right next to the passenger A pillar, stuck to the dash. I get just as many sats (7 usually) when it's there as when it was mounted outside the car, on the trunk lid.

thats exactly where I had mine. I sewed up a sock out of trunk liner and everythign so I didnt have a large yellow ball of plastic on my dash, and it worked like a champ, too. I just didnt wanna see it all the time!
