My PSA: Protect Your Hearing
I have seen many posts by new members and whatnot about which subs/speakers are the best or whatever. I sure hope these same members are not the same people that turn their systems up to "deafening levels". Seriously now, protect your hearing, use common sense, adjust your volume to a level that you can hear comfortably without your face cringing. I was recently driving on the interstate by myself with the windows down and had the system turned up pretty high to combat the wind noise. Now when I got off an exit and stopped at a stop light (and turned the volume down), I was seriously concerned when I thought I went temporarily deaf for a couple seconds, I couldn't hear simple sounds like the sound of traffic. I drove the remainder of my trip yelling at myself to make sure I could still hear (scary stuff). Well after that memorable experience I have vowed to keep the volume down, and remember that brief moment that could have been a turn for the worse.
Anyway I know most of us are younger males and have a full life ahead of us to enjoy, so the last thing anybody wants is damage to their hearing or
permanent hearing loss. Remember that hearing isn't repairable, once it's gone, it's gone.
Sorry to step on a soapbox like this but I think that something like this needed to be said. Get them while they're young, ya know.
Be Safe.
